AI Rules are rules for your workspace’s approval workflow that you can define using natural language. Instead of configuring each field manually, you describe the rule you need in plain language and it’s applied to your approval flow. Use them when a rule you need isn’t covered by the standard rule settings, so you can apply custom logic to how reports are approved.

AI Rules are only available on the Control plan, and you must be a Workspace Admin to add, edit, or delete them.

Who can use AI Rules

• You must be a Workspace Admin.
• The workspace must be on the Control plan.
• Rules must be enabled for the workspace. If you don’t see the Rules tab, learn how to enable Workspace Rules.

How to add an AI Rule

1. In the navigation tabs (on the left on web, and at the bottom on mobile), click Workspaces.
2. Click your workspace name.
3. Click Rules.
4. Scroll to the AI Rules section.
5. Click Add AI rule.
6. In the Describe your rule field, type the rule you want to apply to your approval workflow in natural language.
7. Click Save.

How to edit an AI Rule

1. In the navigation tabs (on the left on web, and at the bottom on mobile), click Workspaces.
2. Click your workspace name.
3. Click Rules.
4. Scroll to the AI Rules section.
5. Click the rule you want to change.
6. Update the text in the Describe your rule field.
7. Click Save.

How to delete an AI Rule

1. In the navigation tabs (on the left on web, and at the bottom on mobile), click Workspaces.
2. Click your workspace name.
3. Click Rules.
4. Scroll to the AI Rules section.
5. Click the rule you want to remove.
6. Click Delete rule.
7. When prompted to confirm, click Delete.

Who can add AI Rules?

Only Workspace Admins on the Control plan can add, edit, or delete AI Rules.

What happens after I save an AI Rule?

The rule is applied to your workspace’s approval workflow and appears in the AI Rules section of the Rules tab.

Why don’t I see the AI Rules section?

The AI Rules section only appears when Rules are enabled for a Control plan workspace and you’re a Workspace Admin. If Rules aren’t enabled, learn how to enable Workspace Rules.
